Popping the Question:
Bridesmaids' Luncheon Plans
I'm planning on having a small lunch party in order to formally ask my best girls to be in the WP. Here are my plans so far:
I'm going to send out invites in mid-December for a January lunch (probably around MLK Day, since we're all teachers and will either have the day off or have a professional day--no teaching). It's still pretty early (11 months out from the wedding), but I know our teaching schedules get crazy as the year progresses, so it's better to do it early. Plus, we don't get paid over the summer, so early notice is best for everyone's finances.
I'm planning on passing out their gifts at the lunch, mainly so that they can get some use out of them! Also, we're not sure that we'll be able to have an RD (might just be a welcome dinner), in which case I'd feel odd passing out gifts in front of the rest of the guests. The luncheon will be a great time to tell the girls how much I appreciate them and get them on board with WR information.
At each girl's place, I will put a vase with a hot pink flower (maybe a Gerber) in it. I will use black ribbon to tie a diamond ring keychain around the base of the vase. In front of the vases, I will place a card (made from pink and black cardstock--pics to follow soon!) asking each girl to be in the WP.
I'm hoping this turns out well!

Bridesmaids' Gifts
My bridesmaids will include my cousin, a close friend, and Nathan's two half-sisters. My MOH is my best friend from high school and our flower girl is Nathan's cousin.
The girls are receiving similar gifts which will include some elements tailored to their personalities. I'm all for cute gifts that are practical, and I tried to keep that in mind when choosing gifts for the girls.
Everyone is receiving the following:
*Personalized large tote
*Bridesmaid/MOH/FG shirt
*Pink leather bookmark
*Individual gift (i.e. giftcard, etc)
A picture of the tote is below. They were ordered from TK Shop and are great! They were beautiful quality, the colors are perfect (black with lettering in pink with black outline) and they are a steal at the sale price.

Junior Bridesmaids' Gifts:
Nathan's sisters will be our junior bridesmaids. This is a picture of their gifts.
They'll receive a tote, bridesmaid t-shirt, and bookmark. The younger one is getting a small nail polish set and the older one is getting a cute lipstick/lip gloss set. We think they'll like them and get use out of the totes for school or traveling.
The older bridesmaids are receiving the same gift, except they will have tanks instead of t-shirts. In lieu of a little set, they will receive a gift card to a place they like (different for each).

MOH
My MOH is receiving a different tank from the rest of the girls. I actually have the same exact style for myself and she loved it when we went dress shopping, so I figured I'd get her the same one!
A close-up of the tank is below. They were ordered from Advantage Bridal.

Flower Girl Bag
We figured our little flower girl would love this personalized bag! We'll probably get her a shirt and stock the bag with activity packs for the reception.
DIY Bridesmaids' Cards
I made these cards to "pop the question" to my girls. I found the poem by doing a Google search for bridesmaids' poems.
The cards were pretty simple to make:
1. I picked out hot pink card stock and thin, printed paper and found the black flourish stickers at Michaels.
2. After I found the poem, I printed a copy and added a bride and groom graphic at the bottom.
3. Using scrapbooking scissors, I cut a zigzag design around the edges and then glued it onto the pink card stock.
4. I attached the black photo edges and then attached the pink paper to the printed paper.
5. I used printed letter stickers to spell out the girls' names.
